Decollate Snail
Rumina decollata
.jpg)
Decollate snails are another Mediterranean invasive, a predatory one that is inclined to eat other snails. This one might look like it's lost part of its shell, but that's actually what they all look like: as they mature, they seal off the early growth from the rest of the shell and it breaks off. It's been known across the country for sometime, but does not seem to be common in Santa Barbara.
